£11bn card switch

SOME 6.5 million credit card holders will switch providers this year, more than 5 per cent higher than last year - a shift of around £11 billion between providers. Research from Abbey Credit Cards showed the average amount transferred was £1,710. The majority transferred to take advantage of introductory interest-free periods on balance transfers.
